I want streaming websites to die and be replaced by federated music and movie streaming

I wish they'd pay the musicians a higher, fair percentage of the profits.
It would also be nice if there were an option to download the music locally for a price (and not with DRM built-in like Apple does), though I guess that's impractical from a business perspective because it would facilitate pirating the music. But then, Bandcamp does it...

So, wait...you want streaming services to have your girlfriend DJing in the room for you? That sounds pretty awesome! I would like them to be more affordable, if not free, and have a very wide music selection. Funkwhale is pretty close to that, although like the rest of fedi, it depends on the instance.
