If you have a friend who means a lot to you and the friend claims the same regarding you, however, all attempts to stay in touch stay with you, would you keep up this 'friendship'? The other has always some good explanation not to communicate with you, while communicating with others a lot.

maybe. depends on what explanations they give and i would certainly try to have a discussion with them in order to figure out what is going on
