if human consciousness is ultimately a product of physical processes in the brain, to what extent does our subjective experience of self and free will align with the deterministic nature of these processes?

i mean, you could argue that consciousness is an emerging property from the sum of those physical processes, but why stop there and go deeper and argue that those physical processes are themselves emerging from the underlying chaotic world of QM. so i could say that those processes aren't really deterministic as they appear to us.
in the end tho, i dont really care if i have free will or not. because i have the experience that i have free will and thats enough for me, even if there wouldn't be a free will
