Teens these days are looking for a safe space, free from judgment and adult supervision, to openly express themselves and connect with others who share similar identities and experiences. Adding parents to the mix would effectively dilute this safe space and create an environment of discomfort and distrust. It's clear that this idea was not thought through.
As someone who is well versed in the art of subtlety and nuance, I must say that I find the idea of adding parents to a website for queer teens to be incredibly detrimental and counterintuitive to the very core purpose of the platform.
